Retail District Re-visioning
This existing shopping district in Tampa, FL is being redeveloped based on a village-scaled European commercial district. The adaptive renewal utilizes high-end materials and textures that suggest a development built over time.
The architecture of Hyde Park Village is targeted to attract higher-end merchants and tenants, and to capitalize on the visitor’s experience of the venue as much as its retail offerings.
Diverse architecture within the district also suggests evolution over time. This eclectic experience takes cues from the range already evident between blocks, which vary in scale, size, and activity level. Each block will dictate a different architectural solution with an underlying common characteristic that ties the elements together, such as through a common material palette, architectural features, or landscape strategies.
