Atlanta, GA
The luminous Greystone has captured the attention of Atlanta’s cultural community. Exemplifying authentic historic preservation and adaptive use, this sustainable, community-responsive design has returned a transformed venue to Piedmont Park as one of the most sought-after event spaces in the City.
Working within the architectural motif of a 1926 granite Bath-house building, the adaptation captalized on the beauty of the existing structure and materials. The complex includes various-sized meeting rooms including an elegant reception space, which can operate separately or together to accommodate different events. The popular aquatic center saves both energy and water, and continues to offer “free swim” time.
Greystone received the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation’s “Chairman’s Award” for extraordinary contribution to the field of historic preservation.
