Atlanta, GA
The Works is an 80-acre mixed use development in the heart of Atlanta’s Upper Westside. SDA was involved in initial planning, as well as the design of Maker’s Row and the district’s first three buildings:
- A newly-designed pedestrian thruway called Maker’s Row comprises the development’s central pulse, its broad promenade inviting visitors to set their own pace. Scofflaw Brewing is at the end of this row.
- The warehouse at 1235 Chattahoochee has been transformed for gallery and entertainment use, as well as a 16,000 SF food hall. Its entry pavilion showcases the drama of this industrial design.
- The adjacent warehouse, 1255 Chattahoochee, has been adapted for office use.
- The new parking deck also serves as a branding element and landmark.
With a program that includes soaring, daylit spaces, art, and inventive landscape moments, these adaptations are catalyzing future projects.
