Athens, GA
Representing a new paradigm in campus food services, Bolton Dining Commons on the University of Georgia’s Athens campus serves as a vital hub for the UGA community.
Designed in tandem with architects Bruner/Cott Architects, the monumental three-story facility provides seating for 1,000 diners, including a convertible private event space. Serving and food preparation occurs on all floors and emphasizes exhibition cooking and small-batch production–promoting freshness, quality food practices, and building community between staff and students.
The building is primarily articulated through a material palette of brick and stone, with metal accents and a heavy timber structure that complement the historic campus architecture.
